The team at White Peak Distillery are raising a glass after scooping two prestigious industry awards for its products.

The firm, which is based at Ambergate, recently tasted success at the Spirits Business 2023 Global World Whisky Masters.

Its Wire Works Caduro whisky won a Gold Medal – adding to the gold it won earlier this year at the International Wine and Spirit Competition.

And its Wire Works Alter Ego whisky went one better winning a Master’s Medal – the highest accolade in the competition.

Alter Ego was the only single malt in this year’s ‘World Whisky’ category to be awarded a Master’s Medal.

Max Vaughan, founder of White Peak Distillery said: “As an emerging brand these awards are a real boost for the Wire Works whisky team.

“We’re striving to create great whisky that people will enjoy, and build long-term support for how we’re making whisky, where it’s being made and who is making it.

“In the 18 months since we launched Wire Works whisky, receiving back-to-back Master’s awards in 2022 and 2023 is beyond what we could have dreamed of – it’s a real motivator and sets the bar high for the future!”

White Peak Distillery was founded seven years ago by husband-and-wife team Max and Claire Vaughan – both originally from Derbyshire – and continues to go from strength to strength.

Last year and this year have seen the distillery win multiple awards, not only for its whisky, but also for its distillery visitor experiences and its Wire Works Whisky packaging.
