Derby’s Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) have introduced a golden ticket promotion to encourage people to shop local.

Following its success last year, the BIDs have once again launched the Golden Ticket Prize Draw, which offers shoppers the chance to win £2,000.

Golden Tickets are now available in businesses across both Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter.

They will also be available via the Festive Derby Guide, which will be delivered to households across Derby from next week.

Shoppers are invited to fill them in and post them into one of 20 special Golden Ticket post boxes located across the city, by 11 December.

The four winners, which will be announced on 14 December, will each receive £500 of vouchers, which can be spent in local shops.

Locations of the Golden Ticket post boxes are listed on the back of the tickets or can be found by visiting www.derbycathedralquarter.co.uk and www.stpetersquarter.co.uk.

More than 5,000 people entered last year’s draw.

Martin Langsdale MBE, chair of the Cathedral Quarter BID, said: “This year, the BIDs have focused on organising and supporting different activities and promotions to encourage people back into the city centre.

“Last year, engagement in the Golden Ticket promotion was excellent and we think this year’s prize draw will be just as good.”

Helen Wathall MBE, chair of St Peters Quarter BID said: “The Golden Ticket Prize Draw always attracts a huge number of entries.

“The BIDs work extremely hard to support local businesses and we have some exciting plans this Christmas, of which this is just the start.”
