The founder of Two Chevrons CIC, which supports ex-servicemen and women, has been reflecting on a first year of success.

According to Joshua Leach-Aslam, winning the Marketing Derby’s Rising Star accolade last year was instrumental in the successful launch of Two Chevrons CIC, which directly supports veterans and service leavers in Derbyshire and across the UK.

Over the past 12 months, it has achieved some key milestones and accolades, while overcoming challenges that have solidified its mission.

A key highlight of the year was achieving a major milestone: supporting 100 veterans.

This achievement was made possible through innovative partnerships and collaboration, with Two Chevrons working closely with the Tri-Service Commonwealth Armed Forces Communities and other veteran charities.

One of the flagship initiatives which contributed to this success was the Veteran Breakfast Meets, where over 100 meals are provided each month to veterans.

These breakfasts have allowed veterans to reconnect, share experiences and access valuable support networks.

Throughout its inaugural year, Two Chevrons CIC has also been recognised for its outstanding contributions and entrepreneurial spirit through several prestigious awards.

Joshua said: “The journey to these achievements has not been without challenges.

“Establishing a new organisation with a mission as ambitious as supporting veterans through job placements, mentoring, and community engagement came with logistical, financial, and operational hurdles.

“Yet, our resilience and dedication turned obstacles into opportunities, creating a strong foundation for growth and impact.”

According to Joshua, the success of Two Chevrons CIC’s first year has been built on “resilience, collaboration, and purpose”.

Looking ahead, he said: “The focus remains on expanding our impact.

“With plans to grow our future support veteran led initiatives, increase job placement opportunities and deepen partnerships, the organisation is poised to continue making a difference.”
