Tourism awards shortlist announced

The Devonshire Group and White Peak Distillery have secured nominations in the Peak District and Derbyshire Tourism Awards 2022.

Pubs and hotels owned and operated by The Devonshire Group have been shortlisted in three of the 15 categories.

Its Cavendish Hotel, at Baslow, has been nominated for the Taste of the Peak District & Derbyshire Award and Hotel of the Year. Meanwhile, The Cavendish Arms is up for Pub of the Year.

White Peak Distillery, which is based at Ambergate, is a finalist in the Resilience & Innovation category.

Organised by Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire, the awards aim to celebrate the success and resilience of tourism businesses, while also highlighting the sector’s vital contribution to the local economy.

Jo Dilley, managing director of Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire, said: “These awards are a celebration of quality and excellence within the visitor economy and never has our sector been more deserving of recognition.”

The winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony, which is set to take place at Casa Hotel, in Chesterfield, on Thursday 3 March.
