Three is the magic number for digital marketing agency
In the latest edition of Marketing Derby’s Innovate magazine, we meet the founders of Alphageek Digital – a digital marketing business that is enjoying great success since it was formed during the pandemic.
Started by friends Alex Mills, Art Lindop and Kieran Flynn, Alphageek has quickly made a name for itself as one of the smartest and best-run companies in the region.
Now based at Cubo, in Victoria Street, the firm employs 16 people and has an annual turnover of £1 million, with around 50 clients based in four continents on its books.
In its last year, it passed the £10 million mark in terms of sales achieved on behalf of its clients and last summer picked up two awards in the East Midlands Chamber’s Next Generation scheme for young entrepreneurs, following up that success by winning Start-Up Company of the Year at the East Midlands Business Masters Awards in October.
Originally set up in 2019, Alphageek offers a whole range of digital marketing services including social media advertising, pay-per-click, web services and content creation.
It uses its know-how to drive sales for a host of big-name clients across a range of industries, including Casio and Derby high-end sportswear firm HUUB.
Art told Innovate: “Ours is a young and dynamic industry and what’s exciting is that you don’t have to be a big agency based in London to work for big names.
“It’s all about results, so by being forward-thinking, honest with our clients and ready to adapt to what’s next, an agency like ours can be hugely successful.”
The trio tell Innovate that they now have their sights set on becoming the best agency in the East Midlands and the best in the UK by 2032.
And they want to make sure they all their staff are with them for the journey.
Alex said: “I want Alphageek to be a success and hugely well-known, but if it’s not going to be a household name, then I’d like to be known as the best place in the industry to work, where everyone has an exceptional progression path and comes to us for a place to grow both as an individual and in their career.
“We want people to be happy and feel respected and be trained well so that they can perform to the best of their ability.”
