Purpose Media, Derby County Community Trust and Rolls-Royce are among the latest Marketing Derby Bondholders to announce new appointments in recent weeks.

Strategic marketing agency Purpose Media has promoted a key member of staff and made new hires to further strengthen its account management operation.

The South Normanton-based consultancy, which provides web, digital, creative and video solutions has promoted Georgia Weston to senior account manager, while adding Laura Tiltina and Emma Tatman to its account management team.

Georgia joined Purpose in 2022 as an account executive, with a Masters in brand management and experience of working for an in-house marketing team within the manufacturing sector.

Account director Matt Bonser said: “It was clear from day one that Georgia was a great fit with our company culture and, along with outstanding marketing ability, she showed entrepreneurship and a real dedication to helping clients achieve their objectives.

“Through peer support and participation in a formal development programme, we have been able to help her add to her skills and are delighted that she is now able to take this exciting next step in her career here at Purpose.”

Emma joins Purpose as an account manager, and Laura as an account executive.

Matt said: “Both will bring talent and enthusiasm to the team and will support our efforts to seek exciting and innovative ways to help our clients grow.”

The board of trustees at Derby County Community Trust have announced that Paul Newman will become its new head of community, and that Mike Evans is to take over as chair of trustees.

Paul has been an integral part of the trust’s development over the past 22 years and replaces Simon Carnall, who is joining Derby County as chief operations officer.

Paul said: “I am excited and honoured to become the new head of community at a time of both challenge and opportunity in the voluntary sector.

“I will bring all the valuable experience gained over two decades of working at the trust and in the sector to help it to continue providing the best support we can to the communities who need us.”

Mike comes to the trust with a wealth of experience in the sector. He was previously chief executive of the EFL Trust, where he oversaw the national work of professional football club charitable organisations.

He said: “Over my 15 years at EFL Trust, Derby County Community Trust was consistently the organisation that others looked to for inspiration and advice, twice winning the EFL’s prestigious Community Club of the Year award.

“I am looking forward to working with the rest of the board and all of the staff, volunteers and partners of DCCT to continue to build on this outstanding work and ensure that the charity continues to support the people of Derby and Derbyshire in new and innovative ways.”

Engineering giant Rolls-Royce has announced that Chris Cholerton has been appointed chair of Alpha Partners Leasing, which is the firm’s engine leasing business.

Chris, who is group president and member of the Rolls-Royce executive team, has deep aerospace sector experience having previously led Rolls-Royce’s Civil Aerospace and Defence divisions.

Seamus Murphy, Rolls-Royce’s director of group finance and performance management, has also been appointed to the APL board.

Bobby Janagan, chief executive of APL and Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance, said: “I am really looking forward to working closely with Chris and Seamus.

“They both bring significant experience, domain knowledge and expertise.”
