Tech firm eyes further US growth after VIP visit
Tech firm Bloc Digital has further strengthened ties in the US after recently welcoming a special VIP visitor to its Derby base.
The company was visited by Mayor of Wichita Lily Wu, who was given an in-depth tour of its offices and shown some of the innovative solutions Bloc has devised using 3D content, data visualisation and alternative reality.
Bloc Digital already has a presence in America after launching it US business Bloc Digital Inc in March last year.
Earlier this year, the firm opened its first North American office in Mentor, Ohio.
Mayor Wu’s visit came off the back of Bloc’s appearance at the recent Farnborough International Airshow.
Following the conclusion of the event, Mayor Wu travelled to Derby to find out more about the company.
During her visit, she and her party enjoyed interactive demos, engaging in the firm’s latest immersive technologies, and gained a first-hand look at how Bloc is shaping the future of digital visualisation for some of the biggest industrial companies around the world.
In a statement, Bloc said: “This visit was more than just a showcase of our expertise, it reflects the growing international interest in our work.
“It also highlights our ongoing efforts to expand globally, focusing on building strong connections with key leaders in the US, including those in Wichita, Kansas.
“Our recent success in Ohio helped us build strong partnerships and expand our presence in the US, including setting up a new team and office in Mentor, Ohio.
“The positive response from the local community and clients has been encouraging, making it a natural next step for us to explore new opportunities elsewhere, in this case Wichita.”
