The chief executive of Fortitude Nicsa Global has been named as the new patron of charity, which provides vital services to people impacted by domestic violence.

Katy Upton, from the IT solutions provider, has taken up the role at Derby Women’s Centre, which supports women, men, and families affected by domestic violence.

Originally founded in 1978, the centre offers a range of services, including counselling, support groups, and educational programs.

Its work is crucial in addressing the complex issues surrounding domestic violence and providing a safe haven for those in need.

One of the key services offered by the centre is its Freedom Programme – a support group designed for women fleeing or who have experienced domestic abuse.

Domestic abuse covers not only physical violence but psychological and financial abuse.

The centre also offers counselling for men struggling with mental health and/or domestic abuse.

Katy said: “It’s an honour to be named patron of Derby Women’s Centre.

“The work they do is invaluable, and I’m committed to leveraging Fortitude Nicsa Global’s resources and network to shine a spotlight on their efforts.

“Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence.”

Yasmin Nazir, director of Derby Women’s Centre, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Katy Upton as our patron.

“Her leadership and Fortitude Nicsa Global’s support will be instrumental in amplifying our message and extending our reach to those who need us most.”
