Sustainability solutions firm hails Rams cup success
Sustainability solutions firm Circulayo has hailed the success of a new partnership with Derby County, which is helping the club reduce plastic waste.
At the start of the season the company teamed up with the Rams to introduce its reusable plastic cups system on matchdays at Pride Park Stadium.
According to Circulayo, after just a handful of home games, the system has saved an impressive 466kg of single-use plastic.
At the same time, the firm said the pioneering green initiative was helping to “empower fans in an interactive sustainability journey”.
The Circulayo system combines a reusable cup scheme with a cutting-edge data solution, which helps to drastically reduce single-use plastic waste.
Derby County is the latest organisation to adopt the system.
Andy Flinn, chief executive at Circulayo, said: “The privilege of working with Derby County on the reusable cup scheme and deploying a practical, technology-driven data solution is immeasurable.
“This presents a splendid opportunity to uphold the club’s EFL Green Club Scheme objectives and catalyse a substantial, lasting reduction in single-use plastic while fostering sustainability within the club and the entire city.”
According to Circulayo, the partnership with the club aligns with the objectives of promoting the city and attracting investment.
In a statement, the firm said: “By fostering a culture of environmental consciousness and responsible consumption, the collaboration is emblematic of Derby’s commitment to sustainability.
“Circulayo’s commitment transcends the stadium’s boundaries. Our unwavering dedication extends to fostering sustainable practices that transcend mere actions, transforming venues, organisations, and entire communities into beacons of transformation.
“Every stride we take is a deliberate act in crafting a stage for a more eco-conscious and sustainable tomorrow.
“In collaboration with Derby County, we’re etching a legacy that echoes far beyond the confines of the pitch.”
