Space Park bosses over the moon with Morecrofts
Electrical contractor Morecrofts has been praised for the work it has carried out at a multi-million-pound development built by Bowmer + Kirkland.
The firm, which provides electrical services to the construction industry, is celebrating the completion and launch of Space Park Leicester.
And Morecrofts’ team of electrical designers, engineers and project managers have been praised for the work they carried out, following the recent official opening carried out by British astronaut Tim Peake.
Morecrofts services blue-chip, regional and national organisations from its Derby base, specialising in projects in the commercial, educational, food, accommodation and industrial sectors across England.
The company was awarded the electrical contract for both space park phases one and two by main contractor Bowmer + Kirkland.
Space Park Leicester is a state-of-the-art cluster, led by the University of Leicester, which brings high-tech facilities for space research, development, teaching and manufacturing into the area.
Having completed the design and installation of complex electrical services, Morecrofts’ operations director Nick Morecroft and managing director Jared Mitchell were thrilled to receive praise for their team’s dynamic approach on behalf of the University of Leicester.
Neil Loxton, senior project manager at the university’s estates and digital services department, said: “This job has been unique and has involved many challenges, but I would like to personally thank Morecrofts for its knowledge, professionalism and can-do attitude throughout the scheme.”
Jared said: “This recognition is a credit to our team, who have worked through a challenging period since before Covid to enable the completion of the space park, while also continually maintaining our high standards.
“It is great to witness the result of another successful collaboration between ourselves and Bowmer + Kirkland, as well as the rest of the construction team.
“Morecrofts were proud to help bring this prestigious scheme to reality.”
