The Museum of Making’s visitor experience team at Derby Museums has been shortlisted for the Visitor Welcome Award at this year’s Museums + Heritage Awards.

The global awards recognise the very best in the world of museums, galleries and cultural and heritage visitor attractions.

The nomination is testament to the team’s dedication throughout 2024, reopening after Storm Babet and ensuring an outstanding experience for all.

Also shortlisted in the category are: the Migration Museum; Nothe Fort operated by Weymouth Civic Society; Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust; and the Young V&A.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Thursday 15th May

The Arkwright Society’s Water Power Project at Cromford Mills is also shortlisted in the Sustainable Project of the Year category and the Big Chatsworth Takeover by the Chatsworth House Trust, part of the Devonshire Group, is one of six learning programmes in the running.
