Repton cuts ribbon on latest international school
Repton has officially opened its latest international school in Egypt.
Repton School Cairo, which is based in Mivida district of New Cairo, stands on a 20,000 sq metre campus.
It includes an early years centre, primary school, senior school, sports centre with a 25-metre swimming pool and a state-of-the-art auditorium.
Opening to junior school pupils initially, at full capacity the school will have 1,500 pupils.
Kevin Hannah, head of Repton Cairo’s junior school, said: “I am excited to bring Repton’s unique blend of British educational excellence, international dynamism, and technological innovation, to Egypt.
“Repton Cairo is founded on the core Repton values of truth, excellence, wholeness and respect, and a culture of service to others.
“A Repton education is a precious gift and a powerful investment.
“As with Repton schools across the globe, we are ambitious for all our pupils, fostering intellectual curiosity in a culture of academic rigour and aspiration. We aim to recognise the unique nature of each of our pupils, whatever their talents and interests might be.”
Repton Cairo is the seventh international school to join the family of Repton international schools around the world.
Repton Cairo will be followed by a second school in Western Cairo, currently planned for 2024 with other schools in the pipeline for Bulgaria and Qatar.
Repton School (UK) headmaster, Mark Semmence, who was part of the official opening of Repton Cairo, said: “Repton is playing a pioneering role in growing an international education and we are genuinely excited to be able to offer a world-class all-round education across three continents.
“We are looking forward to building on our strong sense of collaboration and family identity with Cairo.”
