Derby County has urged all of its supporters to get behind the city’s bid to land GBR.

The club, which is now owned by David Clowes, of Clowes Developments, recently took to Twitter to announce its support for Derby’s bid – and encourage all of its supporters to vote for the city.

In a Tweet to its 385,000 followers, the club said: “The city of Derby is bidding to become the new home of Great British Railways – and we’re pleased to support the bid! Back the bid by voting!”

The Rams are not the only Marketing Derby Bondholder urging others to get involved.

Many Bondholders have visited the city’s official bid webpage https://www.derbygbr.co.uk/ to download a toolkit of assets to use on their marketing, websites, social media and other communications.

Among the businesses to do so is Derby Conference Centre, which posted a picture of their staff on Twitter holding Derby GBR posters.

It said: “Once home to the British Rail Training College, here at the DCC, we are rich in rail heritage and that is why we are so proud to be supporting Derby’s bid to be the new UK headquarters of Great British Railways!”

Other Bondholders who have followed suit include East Midlands Railway, Geldards and Customer Plus.

Meanwhile, some Bondholders have been getting creative to make it as easy as possible for people to vote for Derby.

For example, Penguin PR has thrown its weight behind the campaign by creating a poster with a scannable QR code that takes you straight to the voting page.

It has been sharing this QR across its social media channels.
