Rail forum announces net zero scheme
Rail Forum Midlands has announced it will launch a new programme early next year designed to help its members reduce carbon emissions.
In January, the forum, which represents rail firms across the region and further afield, will launch the Route 2 Zero programme.
With support from the Government, the programme will feature an initial online event for members, followed by monthly events on specific topics, including showcasing what companies – large and small – are already doing.
There will be other supporting activities throughout 2022.
Elaine Clark, chief executive of Rail Forum Midlands, said: “While COP26 has set the scene, we all know that it has to be just the beginning of our collective commitment to achieving net zero.
“Net zero isn’t just for COP, it’s not just a short-term campaign; we need to embark on effective long-term change.”
