Pride Park proves a cut above the rest

A hair and beauty salon is to relocate to Pride Park in the same unit as healthy eating outlet Mezzo Restaurant and Take Out.

The owners of Mezzo have agreed to lease the space above its restaurant to Mark Scott Hair and Beauty, which is relocating from the city centre this spring.

The deal, which was secured by commercial property firm OMEETO, will see the business take the first floor of the property in Victoria Way.

Offering more than 1,000 sq ft of space, the unit will now undergo a programme of extensive refurbishment ahead of Mark Scott moving in.

David Meredith, from Mezzo, said: “We were overwhelmed with interest in the property and could have let it five times over, but we were keen to find a complimentary and suitable partner.

“Mark Scott fits that brief perfectly. We are delighted to have them on board.”

James Theaker, who will manage the new Mark Scott Pride Park salon, said: “On behalf of everyone at Mark Scott we are so excited for the move and ready for a new challenge.

“After nearly 40 years of working in Derby city centre the decision to move wasn’t an easy one but we think with the location and working alongside Mezzo we hope to really thrive on Pride Park.”
