Packaging firm to open £8m facility at Dove Valley

A packaging company has announced it is to open an £8 million facility at a business park being developed by Clowes Developments.

Terinex Flexibles, which specialises in design and print of flexible packaging for the food, medical and pet food industries, will open a 46,000 sq ft factory at Dove Valley Park, at Foston.

According to the firm, which has recently rebranded from QC Flexible Packaging, work has already started on the state-of-the-art facility, which is being built on a three-acre plot.

The firm said that the investment from parent company OGM Holdings Group, will allow for future ambitious growth and support innovation.

The new factory will significantly increase capacity of the factory and warehouse and accommodate the expanding team at Terinex Flexibles.

The company is expecting to increase its staff numbers in the first year, with hires across production and engineering.

The firm’s R&D department will also move from its current location in Oxford.

The new facility will be fitted out with a range of sustainable energy systems, such as a regenerative thermal oxidiser (RTO) that efficiently recovers heat to the printing process for reuse and the roof will be fitted with solar PV panels for generating power to operate the factory.

In addition, heat will be reclaimed from the compressors to send warm air to the curing room for the lamination process and the staff and visitor car park will have electric charging points.

The decision by Terinex to invest in Dove Valley Park comes after it received support from the Invest in Derbyshire service, which Marketing Derby (BH) runs in partnership with Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Economic Partnership.
