Outdoor theatre and cinema set to return

Derby LIVE has announced that its popular outdoor theatre and cinema season will be returning to Markeaton Park this year.

In association with Derby Parks, audiences will be treated to a double bill of Shakespeare from Oddsocks Productions and Derby Shakespeare Theatre Company.

There will also be an interactive performance from AVP Theatre and showings of two blockbuster films.

Held at Markeaton Park Craft Village, the season will start on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June with AVP Theatre and their cast of puppets returning with a brand-new set of fairytales in their Pop-up Theatre: Red Fairy Storybook.

Next up will be outdoor theatre favourites, Derby-based Oddsocks Productions, with their touring adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar.

Derby Shakespeare Theatre Company will bring its modern presentation of Shakespeare’s tragic masterpiece, Romeo and Juliet, to the stage.

The theatre shows will be followed by two of the biggest films to hit the big screen in the past 12 months. Showing in August will be Wonka and Barbie.
