The Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District has produced a new online directory which shines a light on the professional services in the area.

Designed to support local residents in their search for professional services, the directory features 120 organisations, including law firms, estate agents, as well as those involved in creative services, recruitment and education.

Martin Langsdale, chair of the Cathedral Quarter BID, said: “Our high street isn’t just made up of lovely independent shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, Derby has so much more to offer.

“At the beginning of the year, we thought it would be a good time to shine a spotlight on the professional services that line our city streets.

“Do you know where to go if you need a solicitor or an estate agent? You might need a recruitment specialist or a creative service? Our up-to-date directory lists them all and we know this guide will be invaluable to the people in Derby.”

The Cathedral Quarter is home to a number of options for short term office lets in locations including the Connect Derby buildings Sadler Bridge Studios, Riverside Chambers, Kings Chambers and Friar Gate Studios.

And at Cubo, which is based in Victoria Street, people can hotdesk and invest in co-working spaces.

Martin said: “Derby’s Cathedral Quarter is home to the Derby Law School and the International Policing and Justice Institute, as well as the criminology and policing provision.

“We should also celebrate the fact that Derby College Group has its Joseph Wright Campus in the Cathedral Quarter and that the Derby Business School opens this spring.

“The Cavendish Building is set to feature superb new teaching facilities and will be the first net zero business school outside of London.

“This new school will be a valued addition to the city and will support entrepreneurial growth and business connectivity in Derby.”

As part of the campaign to shine a spotlight on some of Derby’s professional services, each business will be featured across the Cathedral Quarter social media platforms in the next few weeks.
