New dates for charity adventure challenge

Specialist child exploitation charity Safe and Sound has announced new dates for an action-packed fundraising challenge.

For its Earth Wind and Fire challenge, intrepid fundraisers can join one, two or all three of the challenges: an evening fire walk at Darley Abbey Mills on Thursday 22 June, an 80ft abseil at Millers Dale on Saturday 24 June and a walk at either venue or at a time and place to suit.

Sponsorship money raised will go towards supporting Safe and Sound’s programmes for young people and families.

Safe and Sound chief executive Tracy Harrison said: “We had originally planned to hold Earth Wind and Fire as part of the Big Help Out over the Coronation Bank Holiday weekend, but feedback was that most people already had family or community commitments that day.

“We have now re-booked the events and hope that fundraisers will relish the opportunity to try out these great activities and raise money to help support and protect young people across the county.
