Mural adds colour to Market Hall revamp

A new mural at Derby Market Hall inspired by community workshops hosted by Artcore has been unveiled.
The £35 million transformation of the historic Market Hall – which is partly funded with £9.43 million from the Government’s Future High Streets Fund – is nearing completion.

Once open, it will provide a new hub for creatives, makers and traders, building on the city’s heritage of innovation and industry.
The new mural has been unveiled on hoardings outside the building near Artcore Gallery, in Osnabruck Square.
The design was created using artwork inspired by community workshops led by artist Dani Bello, where participants explored themes of the past, present, and future of the Market Hall.
In a statement, Artcore said: “The result is a playful and dynamic display that we hope will brighten the area and be enjoyed by everyone. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this project.
“We’re excited for the re-opening of the renovated Market Hall and can’t wait to see this space come to life again.”
