Marketing Derby backs creative industries reception
Marketing Derby has been showing its support for the creative industries by sponsoring a key event for a major national network at QUAD.
Creative UK recently held its annual reception at the Market Place venue, which was the first time it has been held in the East Midlands.
A national network for the creative industries, Creative UK is an independent membership organisation that champions the value of the sector.
Its 2022 reception, hosted by QUAD and supported by Marketing Derby, saw guest speakers give presentations on the importance of the creative industries and the role of freelancers.
They included Janet Markwick, interim managing of Creative UK, Peter Bonnell, QUAD arts programme manager and FORMAT festival director, Filomena Rodriguez, artist and EDI qualified coach and Keith Cox, director of Bloc Digital.
And in a panel discussion, chaired by QUAD’s chief executive Vivek Malhotra, Creative UK spoke about upcoming projects, including its Redesigning Freelancing initiative and Creative Coalition Festival.
Janet said: “At Creative UK, we support the development of creative talent and champion the role creativity plays in the UK’s culture, economy and education system.
“We are very grateful to QUAD for hosting our latest regional reception, which brought together a diverse range of creative people and organisations in the East Midlands.
“It is only through collaboration, across all regions across the UK, that we can make meaningful change, and ensure that the needs of our sector are heard.”
Vivek said: “QUAD was delighted to host the reception for Creative UK – the first time the event has been held in the East Midlands.”
