Manufacturers urged to join new networking group
Marketing Derby Bondholders who are involved in the manufacturing sector are being invited to join a new networking group backed by East Midlands Chamber.
The Derbyshire Manufacturing Network, which is free to join, forms part of the umbrella East Midlands Manufacturing Network, which is led by the chamber.
Launched in March, the East Midlands Manufacturing Network, which is part-funded by the Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund, unites local manufacturing companies, to enable members to harness the cross-industry, business, engineering and manufacturing knowledge necessary to evolve and expand.
It provides members with opportunities to share their experiences with other industry professionals and obtain unique insights into new technologies, resources and information.
Ultimately, the network aims to support manufacturers to help them overcome business challenges in a trusted environment.
Open to manufacturing businesses of all sizes, it is aimed at business owners, directors and senior leaders, who take a strategic overall responsibility to grow their company.
The next meeting of the Derbyshire network is due to take place in Derby on 28 June, with a further meeting scheduled for September.
The June meeting will feature Mark Goldby, who is the group’s chairman, as the speaker.
Mark has more than 30 years of manufacturing and leadership experience in the high-tech electronics industry, initially with corporate giants GEC Plessey and Siemens, and until March 2019 as co-founder and owner of SMS Electronics – a successful, high-tech manufacturing company and Queen’s Award for Enterprise winner in 2012.
