Law firm trainee honoured at prestigious awards

A trainee solicitor at Geldards is celebrating after winning an award recognising her support for young legal professionals.

Laura Matthews, who works in the law firm’s infrastructure and construction team, was presented with the Presidential Award at the recent Derby & District Law Society’s Annual Dinner at Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium.

Its awards celebrate individuals and firms making a significant contribution to the industry and advocating for change.

Laura, who is vice-president of the Derby Junior Lawyers was recognised for her efforts and commitment to re-launching the Derby Junior Lawyers Division in 2022.

Derby Junior Lawyers provides opportunities for young legal professionals to meet colleagues through networking and social events, offering mutual support and career advancement opportunities.
