Law firm Geldards has moved into new offices on Pride Park created by flexible managed workspace provider Cubo.

The company has become the flagship tenant of Cubo Pride Park, which offers 18,000 sq ft of office space across three floors and 450 desks.

The building, which was known as Number One Pride Place, had been Geldards’ home since 2002.

The practice moved out in April to allow Cubo to carry out extensive renovations on the building to create a unique modern workspace.

The firm has now returned to the building and is the first tenant to move in, with its 75-strong Derby workforce occupying the first floor of the building

Geldards’ chairman David Williams said: “Geldards is delighted to be the first tenant taking up residence at Cubo Pride Park.

“Geldards has long enjoyed the benefits of being located in one of the most high-profile buildings on Pride Park and we are pleased to retain our prime location with the added advantage of the slick, flexible work setting that Cubo offers.”

While the transformation of One Pride Place was taking place, Geldards spent three months working from office space at Derby Museum’s Museum of Making.

David said: “Our focus is always on business growth and how we can make improvements for both staff and clients alike.

“Our relationship with Cubo has been instrumental in offering an agile and responsive service to our clients.

“Since moving into Cubo Standard Court in Nottingham earlier this year, we have really felt the benefits of working in a collaborative office space, one which reflects the demands of our dynamic and modern workforce.

“Embracing new ways of working and new technologies helps us to continue to deliver the high-quality service our clients expect from us.”

Cubo has workspaces in major cities across the UK. Cubo Pride Park is its second location in Derby and is in addition to its Cubo Derby site in Victoria Street.

Marc Brough, chief executive at Cubo, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Geldards to our new Cubo workspace on Pride Park in Derby.

“They are one of a growing number of corporate companies who are rethinking their accommodation strategies and moving towards a flexible working model at Cubo.

“Location, great space to work from and flexibility are the main drivers for ambitious businesses. Cubo on Pride Park provides all this and much more, thanks to its unbeatable location, local amenities and the sheer quality of the space.

“We look forward to announcing the arrival of more dynamic businesses to Cubo in the coming weeks.”
