Knitwear firm waxes lyrical about new collection

Fine knitwear firm John Smedley has teamed up with a company which specialises in making handcrafted candles to mark its new autumn/winter collection.

The Derbyshire firm, which this year celebrates its 240th anniversary, is collaborating with London-based WAX Atelier.

WAX Atelier is a London-based studio, which specialises in creating one-of-a-kind, handcrafted wax products and beeswax candles.

In a statement, John Smedley said: “We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with WAX Atelier as part of our Autumn/Winter 2024 collection.

“Inspired by our continued commitment to champion craftsmanship in all its forms, we have collaborated with WAX Atelier on a limited-edition range of hand-dipped candles.

“Created in London using traditional candle dipping techniques, this exclusive collection features candles crafted from natural beeswax in three of our new seasonal colours – Cosmic Violet, Estate Blue and Red Jasper.”

The limited range comes in stubby and tapered sizes and will be sold in pairs.
