H&M to double size of Derbion store
Retail and leisure destination Derbion has revealed its H&M store is set to double in size later this year.
H&M has now temporarily closed its store at the centre and is looking to re-open on Level 2 in autumn.
Its new 25,000 sq ft store will offer visitors an extensive selection of women’s and menswear, as well as bringing H&M Kids under the same roof.
The current H&M Kids store will remain open throughout the expansion, closing just before the transformation is complete to enable its relocation.
The new supersized store will also see H&M Home arrive at Derbion for the first time.
The new space will feature an extensive range of H&M’s Home products, including bed linen, glassware and home accessories.
H&M’s significant upsize will see the retailer take over River Island’s former unit next door, as well as refresh its current space.
This follows the news that River Island will be relocating within the centre, expanding its footprint by more than a third later this summer.
Adam Tamsett, centre director at Derbion, said: “This significant upsize for H&M demonstrates that brands are investing and are keen to expand their presence in Derbion.
“We’re delighted to announce H&M’s expansion and to be able to offer the retailer’s highly desirable home products and bring children’s clothing into the same store, so that everything is all in one incredible, contemporary space.”
Toni Galli, from H&M, said: “We’re excited to be significantly increasing our space at Derbion and look forward to shoppers seeing our new-look store when we open later this year.
“With the much wider ranges of H&M available in one place, including our expansive Home collection, we’re confident our new store will offer our customers a fantastic shopping experience.”
