The US business of tech firm Bloc Digital has secured its second office location in America.

Bloc Digital Inc is opening its latest office in Wichita, Kansas, which is known as the ‘Air Capital of the World’.

Bloc, which already has a US office in Mentor, Ohio, has signed a lease for approximately 3,400 sq ft in the Epic Center, located in the heart of downtown Wichita.

The expansion marks a significant milestone for Bloc Digital, allowing the company to broaden its services for its growing North American client base, particularly in the aerospace, aviation, and industrial sectors.

Co-director Keith Cox said: “We’re excited to see Bloc’s growth continue into Wichita, the Air Capital of the World.

“After starting our US journey in Ohio just over a year ago, and with 25 years in the aviation and space industry across the UK and Europe, expanding into Wichita was the obvious next step for Bloc Digital Inc.”

Fellow co-director Chris Hotham said: “We are thrilled to be opening our third office in the Epic Center.

“Kansas is already proving to be a great strategic decision for Bloc Digital and will certainly be an exciting new adventure with many opportunities.”

Set to open in early 2025, the Wichita office will position Bloc Digital in proximity to key clients and partners, further enhancing collaboration and driving innovation in the aerospace community.

Bloc Digital Inc business manager Mckenna Walker said: “I’m really energised about the potential for growth in Wichita with such a booming aerospace industry and great opportunities to help those companies with the bespoke solutions we can provide to be more connected, work smarter and have greater impact with their markets.

“They’ve been incredibly welcoming thus far. I’m looking forward to growing those relationships with an open office.”

The Greater Wichita Partnership facilitated Bloc Digital’s expansion after meeting company representatives at the 2023 Paris Air Show.

Andrew Nave, the partnership’s executive vice-president of economic development, said “The partnership is honoured to welcome Bloc Digital to Wichita.

“Their expertise in immersive and data-driven technologies will further elevate our industries and position Wichita businesses at the forefront of innovation.

“We look forward to the valuable contributions the Bloc Digital team will have on our growing tech landscape.”

In July, Wichita Mayor Lily Wu toured Bloc Digital’s Derby headquarters following the Farnborough International Airshow.

She said: “Wichita is thrilled to welcome Bloc Digital to our vibrant tech ecosystem.

“I was honoured to have witnessed the company’s cutting-edge technologies during my visit to their headquarters in Derby this summer.

“Their presence in Wichita will strengthen our local economy and enhance our position as a hub for technology and innovation.”
