Green light for hotel and apartments scheme
Plans to build new apartments and a hotel in Chesterfield have been given the go ahead.
Chesterfield Borough Council has approved the scheme, which would see up to 34 apartments created, along with a 133-room hotel built on land off Basil Close.
The development will consist of two tower blocks, one of which will be home to the hotel and restaurant spread over seven floors, with the restaurant on the ground floor.
The apartment building will overlook Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court and the train station.
No details have been released about which hotel chain will run the building once it is completed or who will manage the apartment block.
However, the construction of the two buildings will have to have started before September 2024 under the terms and conditions of the planning agreement with Chesterfield Borough Council.
