Derby City Council is offering Marketing Derby Bondholders involved in engineering – or related industries – free exhibition space at a forthcoming recruitment fair.

Taking place at Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium on Wednesday 14 February, from 10am to 3pm, the Diversity In2 Engineering Apprenticeship and Jobs Fair is for employers who are recruiting into engineering apprenticeships or engineering-related vacancies.

The fair will be attended by hundreds of jobseekers, as well as students from secondary schools, Derby College and the University of Derby.

The event not only aims to ignite an interest in engineering and inspire underrepresented groups to consider a career in the sector, but also offers a real opportunity for employers to recruit into live vacancies.

As well as employer stands, the event will also offer access to three workshops, covering green engineering and future careers, support for applications and demystifying apprenticeships.

Last year’s event, which took place at Derby College, saw 25 employers take part, with more than 600 people attending, 45% of whom were from minority ethnic groups and 30% female.

This year’s event is hoping to attract around 30 employers and more than 800 attendees.
