Firms thanked for backing humanitarian trip to Africa
Companies including Hardy Signs and Cosy Direct have been thanked for supporting a recent humanitarian trip to Ghana.
The firms were among a number of organisations who supported the life-changing volunteering mission led by Burton Albion Community Trust and African Adventures.
Among the 18-strong team of volunteers was Blu Hardy, marketing manager at Hardy Signs.
As part of a team, she contributed to various initiatives to improve local communities and empower youth through education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
During the 10-day trip, the diverse team of teachers, students, and businesspeople helped to create a new playground for one of African Adventures’ partner schools, Tegi EP.
The playground, branded with the black and yellow Burton Albion Football Club colours, is in addition to a well, canteen and goal posts created during the trust’s previous visits.
Speaking on her return, Blu thanked her sponsors for their “invaluable support”.
She said: “This experience has been truly life changing. I’m immensely grateful to my sponsors who made the journey possible.
“I’ve met friends for life, and I couldn’t have shared this with better people.”
In a statement, Hardy Signs said: “Blu’s dedication to community service and humanitarian efforts aligns seamlessly with the values upheld by Hardy Signs.
“Her recent promotion to marketing manager has provided her with a platform to advocate for social responsibility and community engagement worldwide.”
