Firm helps exhibition venue save a billion litres of water
Technology supplied by washroom solutions firm HSG UK has helped a major venue save more than a billion litres of water.
NEC Birmingham was one of the early adopters of the firm’s Ureco and Uretech washroom water conservation system.
With such a high footfall – the NEC initially put a contract out to tender to tackle the issue of washroom water efficiency and improve the experience for its millions of visitors.
HSG successfully won the contract – pitching against some of the UK’s biggest washroom services providers.
The Ureco and Uretech system was installed over just eight weeks – with the HSG team working late at night and early in the morning to minimise disruption to the NEC and its customers.
That was nearly 15 years ago, and the NEC is still a valued customer of HSG, whose technical team carry out quarterly services on the system installed in more than 800 urinals across the vast site.
Today, as well the NEC, the system is installed at sites across the UK, from sports and leisure venues to factories and offices.
Andy Mullan, NEC’s project engineer, said: “I can’t believe it has been 15 years with HSG – that’s a long time by any measure, but particularly in business.
“Over this time, we have been impressed with not only the Ureco, but the whole package from HSG.
“We have continued our custom with them because of the proven environmental savings we achieve year on year, shown in over 1 billion litres of water saved so far, and simply because we receive a great service, too.
“I look forward to continuing to work with them.”
