Firm has designs on helping modern slavery charity

An independent fabric and wallpaper design company has launched a promotion to support Rebuild East Midlands.
Wirksworth-based Blackpop is supporting the work the charity does to support women rebuilding their lives following exploitation through modern slavery by donating 5% of sales between 8 March (which was International Women’s Day) and 8 April.

The money raised will go towards providing personalised emotional, practical and community aid support to those who have experienced exploitation whether it be sexual, forced labour or domestic servitude.
Lesley Gladwell, chief executive of Rebuild, said: “We are immensely grateful to Blackpop for their support to mark International Women’s Day and the work we do for women in Derby and Derbyshire who have experienced trauma through exploitation.
“The people who are referred into our support often feel isolated, fearful, have low self-esteem and lack hope.
“We walk alongside them and ensure that they do not have to recover alone.”
