Print solutions firm WDS has given a further boost to a fundraising initiative which aims to boost local charities.

Back in June, the firm was one of the first to sign up to The Star Trust’s monthly pledge scheme, which sees companies pledge a monthly amount from £50 upwards.

This cash is ring-fenced and then donated to charities from the county who apply for much-needed funding to improve the lives of people in their local communities.

The scheme was launched by Kavita Oberoi, one of The Star Trust’s patrons, at a Marketing Derby event, which was held at Darleys.

WDS has since gone a step further and pledged to donate an additional £50 for every new contract it sells.

Jack Wilson, business development manager at WDS Midlands, said: “It means that anyone who chooses anything our family business has to offer will also be supporting many charities across the East Midlands.

“We’re hoping to work with The Star Trust for many years to come – and I will personally be doing a fundraiser for them in October, which I am currently planning.”

The Star Trust is run by charitable entrepreneurs and business leaders who are committed to supporting their local communities across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Rutland.
