Derby Brewing’s latest new site has a sporting chance
Derby Brewing has announced plans to open its sixth site – a sports bar in Derby city centre.
The firm, which produces its own award-winning beers, has signed a lease on the former Las Iguanas site, in Friar Gate.
It plans to turn it into a premium sports bar called The Clubhouse, which will allow customers to take part multiple sports, as well as watch them.
Activities will include shuffle boards, beer pong, foosball and karaoke.
The bar will serve an extensive drinks range with craft beers, world lagers, ales, artisan wines and spirits, as well as a shot and cocktail menu.
In terms of food, The Clubhouse will serve artisan pizzas, gourmet burgers and a range of southern style fried chicken.
Paul Harris, managing director of Derby Brewing, said: “We have been looking for the perfect venue for a premium sport and high energy experience venue for some time and we are delighted to have secured such a fantastic site.
“We are hugely excited to bring this new concept to Derby, combining great sport, interactive group games, good times and excellent drinks and food.
“To combine interactive games and our take on a premium sports bar will make this a must for any Derby night out.”
The new opening, which is planned for May, comes hot on the heels of a rebrand for Derby Brewing.
Estée Coulthard-Boardman, of FHP Property Consultants, who let the site, said: “It has been a pleasure working with Derby Brewing – I am delighted to be letting this property to a successful local Derby business that has grown and strengthened year on year adding new venues to its portfolio.
“Their new concept ‘The Clubhouse’ will be a unique addition to Derby’s hospitality scene by not only offering great food and drink but also fun and games.
“I look forward to seeing their brilliant ideas come to life and I wish them the very best of luck.”
