Dancing for joy at fundraiser total
An evening of traditional Scottish dancing has raised more than £14,000 for YMCA Derbyshire.
Recently held at Derby Museums’ Museum of Making, the event saw several Bondholders, including Cosy Direct, Colleague Box and Smith Partnership swap their office wear for dancing shoes to raise funds for the youth charity.
As well as the dancing, guests enjoyed a three-course meal served by the young people studying at YMCA Key College, which specialises in educating those for whom mainstream education may have been unsuitable.
Funds raised from the evening will enable YMCA Derbyshire to sustain programmes such as Men in Sheds, which is an opportunity for like-minded individuals to come together, socialise and work on projects outdoors.
YMCA will also be using the funds raised to offer even more youth and community projects, including dedicated therapeutic counselling sessions.
In a statement, the charity said: “All team members at YMCA Derbyshire are exceptionally grateful for the support of businesses and Bondholders around the city and county.”
