Dad completes epic cycling challenge

A dad who found himself in need of support as he struggled with debt has completed an epic bike ride in aid of Derventio Housing Trust.

Joe Hodgkins has cycled 1,000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats in aid of the trust, which helped him back in 2019 when he struggled to find a place to call his own.

The trust provided him with as a base while he got his life back on track.

Money raised from Joe’s efforts will help support its work providing housing and support for those facing homelessness.

Joe said: “It was an amazing adventure. It was the best thing I’ve ever done, the biggest achievement.

“By the end, my body had conditioned itself and it was more of a mental battle.

“The only organisation I wanted to raise money for was Derventio as they helped me in the past. Their support meant I could get my life back on track.”
