Comedian John bringing anniversary tour to Derby

Becketwell Live has announced that comedian John Bishop will be bringing his latest tour to Derby.

The legendary funnyman will be performing at the new venue on 21 October as part of his massive 25 Years of Stand Up tour.

It was on 2 October 2000 that John stepped on the stage at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester to perform his first ever comedy gig in front of just a handful people.

At the time, he was working by day in the pharmaceutical industry.

Now, a quarter of a century later, he is embarking on his tenth stand-up tour to mark the 25th anniversary since the start of his comedy career.

The show is the latest event to be announced so far that will take place at the brand-new £45.8 million Becketwell Live venue, which is due to open in the next few months.
