Derby College Group has retained a national standard recognising its approach to the career development of its students.

The college has once again been awarded the Quality in Careers Standard, achieving ‘platinum’ status, the highest level, which is only awarded to a handful of organisations.

The Quality in Careers Standard is a nationally recognised accreditation that highlights excellence in career development provision in schools, colleges, and other educational institutions.

Using the Career Mark framework, Derby College Group has consistently demonstrated high standards in helping students build career readiness, develop employability skills, and achieve positive destinations after their studies.

The Quality in Careers report states “This is an excellent achievement and recognises the quality and breadth of your careers provision.

“This award is a reflection of the hard work of everyone at Derby College Group to ensure the best possible outcomes for all of our students.”

Derby College Group said equipping learners with real-world skills and knowledge – and positioning them as “confident and capable” entrants into the workforce or higher education – was a “strategic priority”.

It added that collaborations with local employers was helping it deliver “a proactive and personalised career development programme, guiding students through every stage of their journey”.

Katie Seymour-Smith, team manager for the college’s career guidance services, said: “Retaining the Quality in Careers Standard reaffirms our dedication to empowering students with the guidance and resources they need to make informed decisions about their futures.

“We are committed to providing tailored, impactful support that prepares each student for lifelong success, and this accreditation is a testament to all the hard work and expertise.”
