Classic day for birthday celebrations

Great Northern Classics (GNC) has marked its first birthday with a celebratory auto meet.

On March 15th, the heritage motoring attraction in Derby celebrated its one year anniversary since opening to the public, after a two-year building project at the former Victorian Ironworks foundry on Osmaston Road, previously home to the Rolls-Royce Heritage Centre.
Supporters were invited to a birthday auto meet, with BBQ and music, which attracted over 600 visitors.

Over 200 vehicles were on display throughout the event, from pre-war to 90s hot hatches and classic bikes, and visitors were able to enjoy the venue’s Tramshed Café.
Alex Downs, events and communication coordinator at Great Northern Classics said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the response our events are receiving this year! The birthday event was a huge success that reflects GNC’s ethos perfectly.
“Great displays, food and, of course, the automotive community coming together. Working with Iconic Auctioneers for another year is incredibly exciting for us too!”

As well as providing a destination for vehicle enthusiasts, Great Northern Classics houses workspaces for individual tenants operating a wide range of automotive services, from detailing to interior trimming, vehicle storage facilities and vehicle display area.
As is a family-friendly venue that promotes community through anything with wheels, it provides a space for enthusiasts to share stories and tips.
A programme of monthly events alongside one-off specials will bring even more supporters to Great Northern Classics in the coming months. For more details on what’s on offer, click here.
