Two major new residential schemes in Derby city centre created by Marketing Derby Bondholders have been shortlisted for prestigious property awards.

Nightingale Quarter and The Condor have both secured nominations in this year’s Midlands Residential Property Awards, which are organised by Insider.

Nightingale Quarter, which has been created on the former Derbyshire Royal Infirmary site, has been shortlisted in three categories – Apartment Development of the Year, Social Impact Award and Residential Regeneration Project of the Year.

The Condor, which is Derby’s first ever build-to-rent apartments scheme, is also up for Residential Regeneration Project of the Year. It is also shortlisted in the Residential Development of the Year (more than 100 units) category.

Nightingale Quarter has been developed by Wavensmere Homes, while The Condor has been created by Grainger and St James Securities.

Wavensmere is shortlisted in the Housebuilder of the Year category as well as Urban & City Living Developer of the Year, where it is joined by Grainger.

Flying the flag for the Bondholder community in the Architectural Practice of the Year category is Matthew Montague Architects.

Ian Griffin, deputy editor at Insider, said: “The Midlands has a huge shortage of housing, and these entries show that the property sector is working in a determined and innovative way to serve the market need.

“Our shortlists contain some well-designed and eye-catching schemes, which have overcome major challenges, provided great design and created successful public-private partnerships.

“The residential property sector is attracting major global investment, world-renowned businesses and skilled staff and this fantastic annual event is a brilliant way to celebrate that.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Birmingham on 6 June.
