Charity’s support for rough sleepers
Freedom Community Project is providing emergency accommodation and support throughout winter for rough sleepers across Derbyshire.
The charity is managing a 15-bedroom property in Heanor, in partnership with eight district councils and Derbyshire County Council, to help prevent unnecessary winter deaths during the coldest months of the year.
Staff will be on site seven days a week to welcome rough sleepers, supporting them with food, clothing and help with finding longer term accommodation.
Referrals to the service are now open until March and must be made through the district councils. Derbyshire residents are urged to contact their local district council with details of persons sleeping rough.

All donations made by 31 December will be doubled by the Aviva Community Fund through the Cost-of-Living Crisis Winter Appeal up to £250.
