Charity worker shortlisted for national award
A staff member at child exploitation charity Safe and Sound has been shortlisted for a national award.
Out of more than 300 people and organisations, Lucie Radova is just one of six to be named as a finalist for the Hope Heroes Campaign, run by Hope Not Hate, an organisation that aims to challenge and expose far right extremism.
Lucie is the new and emerging communities worker at Safe and Sound, which supports local children and young people who are victims of or at risk of exploitation, including sexual exploitation, County Lines, trafficking, modern slavery and radicalisation.
Lucie has been shortlisted in recognition of the positive impact that she is making on the lives of young people and their families in Derby’s inner city.
She said: “I am honoured to have been shortlisted for this award. The focus for my work is that I want to give people in the city’s new and emerging community equal opportunities and help them believe in themselves.”
The winner will be decided by a public vote, which closes on 12 November. To vote please click here.
