Children First Derby has welcomed a donation from a national housebuilder, which will go towards the cost of running its services.

Taylor Wimpey North Midlands has made a £250 donation to the charity, which provides relief for families suffering or facing distress throughout Derby.

Children First Derby provides bespoke family support, mentoring, and supervised family time for vulnerable children and families.

The donation from Taylor Wimpey has been dedicated to the running and maintenance of these support services.

With support from local volunteers, Children’s First helps vulnerable parents and families by providing advice services, workshops to develop and gain skills, establishing daily routines, budgeting advice and access to local community support networks and services.

Irshad Baqui, chief executive at Children’s First Derby, said: “The support we offer families throughout Derby is so important and we must rely on external support and donations to help us continue our work with young people and families across the city, so we’re very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for this donation.”
