Charities collaborate on festive fun run
Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity has announced details of this year’s Derby Santa Run, which will raise cash for a host of local charities.
The Derby Santa Run 2024, which is a festive 5k fun run, is set to take place at Markeaton Park on Sunday 8 December.
People (and even dogs) of all ages are invited to don a free Santa suit and take on the course, enjoying festive surprises, live music and hot food along the way.
According to Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity, which is organising the event in collaboration with eight local charities, it is set to be the biggest Derby Santa Run yet.
Participants can just take part in the event or can choose to fundraise for Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity or any of the eight partner charities, which include Safe and Sound, Rebuild, The Derbyshire Cricket Foundation, Umbrella and YMCA Derbyshire.
Jill Matthews, chief officer at Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity, said: “This is a wonderful chance for everyone to have a fun-filled day, while supporting a local cause that’s meaningful to them.
“This event promises a fantastic atmosphere, festive music and a true sense of community spirit.”
