Cathedral Quarter hails street party success

The Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District has hailed the success of a recent street party which attracted thousands of people.

Celebrate Sadler Gate attracted more than 3,000 people, according to the BID, which worked with Love Sadler Gate group, to organise the free event, which featured a host of live entertainment and attractions.

Businesses on Sadler Gate also organised their own activities, which included free food and drink samples, special offers and entertainment.

Brad Worley, BID Manager for Cathedral Quarter, said: “The event was fantastic, and Sadler Gate was packed.

“It was a brilliant day and evening, and the event really did allow us to showcase Sadler Gate’s tight knit, supportive community and shine a light on Derby’s hard-working independent businesses.”

“An event like this takes a lot of effort and organising, but when we see 3,000 people turn out for it, it is so worth all the hard work. Every year, it gets bigger and bigger.”
