British astronaut Tim set to land in Derby

Becketwell Live has announced that British astronaut Tim Peake will be coming to the Derby venue later this year to talk all things space.

Tim Peake: Astronauts – The Quest to Explore Space, which will take place on 11 October, will see Tim share the remarkable stories of some of his fellow astronauts and explore the spectacular evolution of space travel.

From the first forays into space in the 1950s, to the first human missions destined for Mars, Tim will traverse the final frontier.

He’ll answer all the big questions, revealing what spaceflight is like: from the wondrous view of Earth, living in weightlessness, the unique dangers and unexpected moments of humour, to the years of training and psychological and physical pressures that an astronaut has to take on.

Tim’s show is the latest event to be announced so far that will take place at the brand-new £45.8 million Becketwell Live venue, which is due to open in the next few months.

Last week, speaking at Marketing Derby’s Annual Business Event, general manager Marcus Sheehan told the audience to expect more exciting announcements in the coming weeks.
