Bondholders shine in 2024
The Bondholder community achieved some incredible things in 2024 – and Marketing Derby has been shining a light on their achievements throughout the year.
Our community of 350 Bondholders is diverse, from OEMs to SMEs, global companies to one-man operations, from high-tech firms to charities.
As Bondholders, they are vital and much-valued partners who make up what we call ‘Team Derby’.
Our news bulletins are an important way of promoting their activities and achievements – and highlighting Team Derby in action!
A prime example is Derby Kids Camp, which provides much-needed breaks to hundreds of deserving children ever year.
Earlier this year, Marketing Derby ran a story in which the charity made an urgent appeal to the Bondholder community to help with this summer’s camp build.
The response was overwhelming – with numerous Bondholder organisations sending teams to help get the camp ready for the children. Not only that, but a number of Bondholders also committed people to act as volunteers during the camp.
Chris Edwards, chair of Derby Kids’ Camp, said: “We were blown away by the incredible support from the Marketing Derby Bondholder community this year.
“The energy and commitment during this year’s Camp Build was truly amazing – it’s the fastest we’ve ever seen it come together!
“And to have so many volunteers step up to help run the holidays over the summer was just fantastic.”
The spotlight has also been put on up-and-coming entrepreneurs through Marketing Derby’s annual Rising Star competition.
Designed to give a helping hand to budding businesses, this year’s recipient was Two Chevrons Group – an organisation which aims to address challenges within the veteran and blue light sectors by fostering partnerships with businesses and organisations across the UK.
Joshua Leach-Aslam, founder of Two Chevrons, said: “We were incredibly honoured to receive the Marketing Derby Rising Star Award.
“This recognition has played a pivotal role in bridging communications within Derbyshire and across the UK, allowing us to connect with businesses, community leaders, and residents in ways we never imagined.
“The award has given us a platform that not only raised awareness about our services but also made it easier for other organisations to discover and collaborate with us.”
A sector which has had to endure numerous challenges over the years – from the pandemic to the cost-of-living crisis – is the hospitality sector.
Marketing Derby’s annual Food and Drink Awards showcase the very best food and drink operators the city has to offer, providing them with much-deserved recognition.
A total of 11 awards were handed out at this year’s awards, with Morley Hayes’ Dovecote restaurant carrying off the prestigious Restaurant of the Year title. The business also won the Outstanding Achievement Award.
Christopher Tebbs, inward investment executive and Marketing Derby Food and Drink Awards lead, said: “We would like to say a huge congratulations to all of this year’s winners and runners-up.
“We received over 4,500 nominations this year, which shows that the appetite for these awards has never been higher – likewise the standard of places to eat and drink in Derby.”
