A team of staff from a Derbyshire waste and recycling business has raised £8,000 for Treetops Hospice from a bespoke sponsored trek.

The team of 27 from Alfreton-based HW Martin Waste recently took part in the 11.5-mile challenge through the Peak District in aid of the Risley-based end-of-life charity.

Proceeds from the trek will help Treetops provide 74 local people with a night of nursing care.

In her role as relationship manager for challenge events at Treetops, Claire Mathias, supports individuals and teams who run, walk and cycle to raise vital funds for the hospice.

She has recently started to create bespoke events for businesses, community, and friendship groups.

Claire said: “I loved helping to create the right event for HW Martin Waste and it was so kind of the team to invite me to join them on the trek.”
