Beer tribute to new Rams owner
Derby Brewing has created a special beer to honour the new owner of Derby County.
The firm created the brew ‘On Clowes 9’ in tribute to David Clowes, of Clowes Developments, who bought the club out of administration.
When the club was in administration, Derby Brewing made a beer called Paulo One Hop, to raise money for the Rams.
Now, it has brewed a pale ale and named it after Mr Clowes to thank him for stepping in and rescuing the club.
Paul Harris, managing director of Derby Brewing, said: “After what has been a torrid time for all Derby fans and the city, we wanted to brew a beer to thank David for stepping in and saving our club.
“We are sure he will be a fantastic steward of what is the biggest of all community assets. Thank you, David, from all of us at Derby Brewing.”
Trevor Harris, director of brewing at Derby Brewing Company, said: “We are a family business, and Paul and I are lifelong Derby fans and season ticket holders like many across our city.
“So, when the news broke, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than a beer to enjoy knowing our club’s future is secured.”
