IT services firm Bam Boom Cloud has been sold to a US-based cloud commerce giant.

The firm, which is headquartered in Derby, has been sold to Pax8 for an undisclosed sum.

Bam Boom Cloud, which uses Microsoft cloud technology to help small and medium businesses grow, is a global business, with more than 135 staff across the UK, US, Germany, India and Canada.

It moved to its current headquarters in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter in 2021, with help from Derby City Council and Marketing Derby.

It has since developed into an award-winning Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central services organisation.

The firm has said it will continue to remain in Derby following the deal.
Vicky Critchley, chief executive at Bam Boom Cloud, said: “We’re excited for Bam Boom to join Pax8 to scale our technology solutions to the channel ecosystem.

“Bam Boom is passionate about helping businesses be as sustainable as possible and build a strong foundation with reliable, cloud-based accounting solutions with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

“Pax8 will enable us to expand our reach and help more businesses grow with Microsoft business solutions.”

According to Pax8, its acquisition creates a new market opportunity for managed service providers to easily add new lines of business services offerings, leveraging Bam Boom’s Microsoft Dynamics expertise.

John Street, chief executive at Pax8, said: “Business process automation is on the rise, and the Bam Boom acquisition will enable us to create new simple go-to-market strategies and services for partners to build on their Microsoft Dynamics technology offerings.

“Together, our people, cloud marketplace, programmes, services, and resources will enable MSPs to capitalise on the market opportunities with business applications solutions and add new revenue streams to their organisations.”
